About
Eugene Metro Fútbol Club was founded in 2006 by local parents and coaches seeking to improve the competitive soccer environment in Eugene and Springfield. Beginning with only three teams, EMFC grew into one of the most prominent youth soccer organizations outside the Portland metropolitan area. In 2013, the club became Eugene Timbers FC after joining the Portland Timbers Alliance. After eight years in the Alliance, the organization returned to its original Eugene Metro FC identity in 2022, reinforcing its emphasis on being a locally rooted community club serving Eugene, Springfield and the wider Lane County region.
