Raul Gudiño Atlanta United Transfer

Atlanta United officially has announced the signing of Mexican goalkeeper, Raul Gudiño as a free agent through the 2022 MLS season.

Raul Gudiño becomes the latest Mexican international to venture over to the MLS. Over recent seasons we have the seen the likes of other Mexican players like Carlos Fierro, Jose Van Rankin, Javier “Chofis” Lopez, Alan Pulido, Carlos Vela, Javier Hernandez, and most recently, Hector Herrera join the league.

Gudino departs from Deportivo Guadalajara where he made 85 appearances for the club across all competitions from 2018 to 2022 while keeping 21 clean sheets which allowed him to make his senior team debut for the Mexican National team where he has been capped 5 times for El Tri.

Once highly touted as the heir to Mexico’s number one goalkeeper, Guillermo Ochoa after his incredible performance for Mexico’s U-17 squad at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup where his team finished runners-up in the tournament. His performances landed him a move to FC Porto B where he helped the team in winning the LigaPro in the 2015-2016 season. He would also have brief loan stints with Portuguese club C.F. Uniao and Cypriot club APOEL FC before joining Deportivo Guadalajara on a permanent deal.
