Maryland native and Philadelphia Union Academy product Cole Turner has signed with USL Championship side Loudoun United FC on a 1-year contract. The 21-year-old 6′ 2′ center-back has struggled to earn a starting role in the Philadelphia squad – only playing 1 official game for them in the last two years at 11 minutes.
Although Cole Turner is moving down a division, this move is his best bet. At such an early stage in his career, he needs playing time to continue to develop. During 2021, Turner was loaned to El Paso Locomotive FC and played 9 games. He alternated positions from center-back and midfield during the season.
