Mateusz Klich has signed with D.C. United as their Designated Player on a two-year contract through 2024 with an option in 2025. The Polish central midfielder is coming from Premier League side Leeds United, where he spent the previous four seasons.
Head coach and manager Wayne Rooney is looking forward to the services of Klich and said “I’ve been watching him since he helped lead Leeds to promotion to the Premier League and his vision, range of passing, and scoring ability will be a huge asset for us this season.”
This club addition might be just what D.C. United needs to link up top as they recently signed Christian Benteke last August. The Belgium striker ended the season last year with 7 games and 1 goal – winning only 1 of the 7 games he played in.
D.C. United’s preseason is set to kick off February 1st against Charlotte FC.
