Borussia Dortmund have made the signing of Sebastien Haller official as he joins the Bundesliga giants from Dutch side, AFC Ajax for an undisclosed fee. The move had been rumored for several weeks now, and Haller has become Dortmund’s seventh signing of this transfer window so far.
Dortmunds other six summer signings include Sule, Adeyemi, Schlotterbeck, Ozcan, Meyer, and Lotka. Dortmund have looked to revamp their squad in hope’s to put an end to Bayern’s league dominance and reinforce their squad after losing key players like Erling Haaland to Manchester City and Axel Witsel to Atletico Madrid.
Haller lit up the Eredivisie league with Ajax by scoring 34 goals in 43 games across all competitions this past season. His goalscoring contributions led Ajax to be crowned champions of the Eredivisie for the 36th time in their history.
Haller is no stranger to the Bundesliga as he has played for Eintracht Frankfurt between 2017-2019 where he scored 33 goals in 77 games for The Eagles. However, Haller will have big shoe to fill as he has been brought in to replace Erling Haaland who was an absolute goal machine for Dortmund, as he scored an impressive 86 goals in 89 games.
A squad mixed with well experienced players and exciting young players, Dortmund will be one of the most exciting team to watch next season and they will hope to give Bayern a run for their money.
