The Houston Dynamo are close to signing Amine Bassi from French club FC Metz. The 25-year-old Moroccan international is set to sign a two-year contract with an option for 2025.
Bassi was born in France, although his family is originally from Morocco. In 2017, he made his debut for the Morocco U21 team, who lost a friendly match versus Italy U21 by a score of 4-0. His senior career remained in France as he played in AS Nancy Lorraine and FC Metz.

The Houston Dynamo has experienced significant change throughout the offseason with many players being offloaded this winter. Since Olsen took over as head coach at the beginning of November, twelve members of the first team have left the organization. This winter, new players such as winger Ivan Franco (on loan from Paraguay’s Club Libertad), midfielder Artur (traded with Columbus Crew), defender Franco Escobar (free agency from the Major League Soccer), and others have arrived in their place.
