The Philadelphia Union is close to completing the transfer of 25-year-old Juaquin Torres. The Argentine native is currently with CF Montréal having previously been on loan for a year and then permanently signed with the Canadian club.
Valued at around $2 million, the move is likely to happen as the Philadelphia Union are looking to provide more depth in the attacking midfield role. Alejandro Bedoya currently is the Union’s designated starting midfielder but at 35 years old, this is the perfect time for Torres to come in and engrave his mark in Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Union since 2019 has qualified for the playoffs but has yet to win the cup. Just last year, the managed to make it to the final but fell short against LA FC in the final. With the addition of Torres, the Union is expected to qualify again for playoffs but only time will tell if this is the year they are able to lift the cup.
