Joshua Pynadath AZ Jong and Ajax Transfer

Holland-based AZ Alkmaar has confirmed the signing of American youth international Joshua Pynadath on a two-year contract until 2024. AZ Alkmmar report that the 20-year-old forward will be starting off playing in AZ Jong, their reserve team.

Joshua Pynadath is no stranger to the Netherland style of play. He is transferring away from Ajax, where he spend a vast majority of his youth career since 2015. In 2019, Joshua Pynadath was promoted to Jong Ajax, their reserve squad where he played 8 games in 1 year.

Pynadath began playing soccer at Red Star Soccer Academy when he was young. His family is Indian-American. He gained notoriety in 2013 when Real Madrid and Barcelona, two powerful Spanish clubs, expressed an interest in adding him to their youth programs. In the end, Pynadath joined Real Madrid, becoming the first player from the United States and the first person of Indian heritage to ever participate in the club’s development program.

Additionally, Pynadath has been capped by the United States at the U15, U17, and U18 levels.
