Leo Messi has made it abundantly obvious that he will not be extending his current deal with Paris Saint-Germain. It is unclear where Messi will end up next, although there seems to be a lot of speculation he will land a contract with him home club, FC Barcelona.
Xavi, the manager of Barcelona, was asked if he would like to see his former teammate return to the club. He responded, “Yes, but at the moment, Leo has a contract with another club, so it’s impossible. We will see in the future whether or not it’s possible.”
To add more to this story, the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, was quoted in an earlier article as saying that he hoped “the story of Leo and Barca will continue.”
However, Messi claims that he is content with his current situation at PSG after overcoming a challenging beginning to his career in Ligue 1.
“I feel good, I feel different from last year. I knew it was going to be like this. I’m more comfortable with the club, the dressing room, my teammates, the game. I feel very good again, so I’m starting to enjoy it again.” said Messi.
Nevertheless, Messi has a special place in his heart for FC Barcelona. If the contracts and negotiations permit, it is highly likely we will be seeing Leo in Camp Nou soon again. Contingent Messi doesn’t announce to the world his retirement.
