Lisandro Martinez Injury Manchester United

Lisandro Martínez is a center-back for Premier League club Manchester United and the Argentina national team.

Martinez was placed on a stretcher after suffering a lower leg injury in the 86th min.

Many at first believed that it was an Achilles injury until Ten Hag said that those rumors are false.

“There was no opponent involved,” said Ten Hag. “We’ll have to wait and see.”

Ten Hag told BT Sport: “We had the game in our hands and we should’ve made it 3 or 4-0, the game was totally on us. Then, there were some unlucky moments with injuries, we had to make subs because of injuries like Raphael Varane at half-time.

“Let’s hope it’s not so bad, but the fact that he was stretchered away from the technical area and he was in tears, it’s difficult to say what’s happened but he was holding on to his ankle,” said former Manchester United keeper Peter Schmeichel, who was at Old Trafford for BBC Radio 5 Live.

Manchester United is now down seven players at a crucial time in the season. With only nine games left in the Premier League and their Europa League tournament on the line, the Red Devils need every player available.

Injury list:

Marcus Rashford
Luke Shaw
Scott McTominay,
Alejandro Garnacho
Donny van de Beek
Lisandro Martinez
Raphael Varane
