U.S. Cremonese defeats Roma in Serie A

U.S. Cremonese football club based in Cremona, Lombardy has officially won their first game of the Serie A this season after 24 games.

Cremonese finally breaks the joint-longest streak without a win for a club in Serie A history (30-match winless streak alongside Ancona between 1993 and 2003). Cremonese has won a Serie A match for the first time since 31st March 1996 (Padova-Cremonese 1-2).

Mourinho was sent off as the first half ended for persistent protest against the referees. Leonardo Spinazzola leveled the score 1-1 at the 71′ before a foul from goalkeeper Rui Patricio at the 83′ that set up the match-winner for Cremonese.

Cremonese won 2-1 over Roma with a 17′ Strike by Frank Tsadjout just outside the box and an 83′ Penalty by Daniel Ciofani.

This win now sets Cremonese 1 point out of last place and eight points from safety. With 24 matches played and 14 games left to go in the season, only 20 points separate the bottom 10 teams in the league (Udinese 10th place, 31 points, Sampdoria 20th place, 11 points,).
