The 23-year-old Italian attacking midfielder is set to depart Italian club Roma on a permanent deal to Galatasaray. The deal is expected to be around €20m with additional add-ons. Nicolò Zaniolo will sign for four years until 2027 and will include a €35m release clause.
Nicolò Zaniolo was born in Massa, Tuscany, and grew up in the Fiorentina youth system. Zaniolo spent 6 years in the youth system until making his senior appearance debut with Virtus Entella in 2016, a current Serie C club.
Inter Milan made the announcement that they had acquired Zaniolo on July 5th, 2017, and the stated cost was €1.8 million, with a further €1.7 million in incentives. During the 2017–18 season, he was a member of the Primavera (youth) squad, and he finished the year as the club’s leading scorer with 13 goals, helping the team win the Campionato Nazionale Primavera. On July 9, 2017, Zaniolo played in his first preseason game for Inter, which was a friendly. On the other hand, he did not participate in any of Inter’s first team’s competitive matches.
In June 2018, it was reported that Zaniolo and Davide Santon had joined Roma as a part of the deal moving Radja Nainggolan to Inter. Zaniolo completed his medical on 25 June, and signed a five-year contract with the club, for a fee of €4.5 million plus 15% resell revenue.
Since 2018 with Roma, Zaniolo played in 94 games and totaled 13 goals for the Italian club.
