Roy Hodgson Returns to Crystal Palace

Roy Hodgson is set to return to Selhurst Park as head coach at the age of 75. Roy Hodgson was previously appointed by the club in 17/18 (Sep 12, 2017) and was in charge until 20/21 (Jun 30, 2021).

This is now Hodgson’s second time coming out of retirement with the hope that his previous managerial experience with the club will keep them in the Premier League. With only 10 games left in the season, Roy Hodgson has been set a difficult task to save Crystal Palace from relegation. Crystal palace is now 13 matches without a victory sitting in 12th place and 3 points from relegation.

Crystal Palace has heavily relied on Wilfried Zaha who has been their top goal scorer, but his recent injuries have affected Crystal Palace’s poor form who have struggled to convert goals. Crystal Palace’s decision to let go of Patrick Viera after their 4-1 loss to Arsenal has been criticized since Palace’s next 6 fixtures are winnable games as they face teams that are also fighting relegation.

Crystal Palace’s next fixtures:

Leicester (H) – Saturday, April 1
Leeds (A) – Sunday, April 9
Southampton (A) – Saturday, April 15
Everton (H) – Saturday, April 22
Wolves (A) – Tuesday, April 25
West Ham (H) – Saturday, April 29
