Santiago Arias is looking to return to the pitch in a starting 11 role after struggling to come back in form after a season-ending injury in 2020. Arias suffered a severe injury during international duty with Colombia while on loan in Germany from Atletico Madrid. The Colombian full-back only managed to play one game for Bayer Leverkusen before being loaned out to Spanish side Granada.
His journey in Granada lasted only 12 games and eventually his contract expired in 2022 with Atletico Madrid. Arias is a two-time World Cup starter for Colombia and a recognized leader during his time in PSV, playing 136 games for the Dutch champions.
Sources confirm that FC Cincinnati is having Arias train with the team during preseason as Arias is currently a free agent.
