BACK TO MEXICO CLUBS

Hi, I’m Carlos! A coach, sports enthusiast, and the founder of FCScout.com.

I fell in love with the game at a very young age like many of you. I’ve been following and playing soccer for many years.

Throughout my career, I always enjoyed helping soccer players chase their dreams, which is why I started this website. I wanted to reach a larger audience outside of my local area and fcscout.com was born.

This website is a platform I will be using to update club pages on any tryouts, stadiums, players, tech, and more from clubs around the world. I also create free recruitment profiles for players looking to have that extra competitive edge when reaching out to clubs.

That’s it. That’s my pitch for you to stick around (or browse the site as you please).

This is already too much text for a “see more” drop-down button thing. If you want to reach out to me, head on over to my contact page 🙂

CD Guadalajara History

The only football club in Mexico that does not accept players from outside of Mexico is Guadalajara. Guadalajara’s policy prohibits international players from participating in club games. Cantera players have always been given priority on the squad, and it has served as a stepping stone for a number of players who have gone on to have success on the international stage, such Omar Bravo, Javier Hernández, Francisco Javier Rodrguez, Carlos Salcido, and Marco Fabián. The colors red, white, and blue on the team’s uniform represent “Sports,” “Union,” and “Fraternity,” respectively. The original members of the squad decided to give themselves a connection to their homeland of France by donning the colors of the French flag. To show their allegiance to the Chivas, fans wave a banner that is an exact replica of the French flag.

The goat, often known as the chiva, serves both as the team’s mascot and its moniker. Chivas is one of the most successful teams in Mexico and currently holds the record for the longest winning run at the beginning of a season in the Mexican league, having won their first eight games in a row. Guadalajara is the most successful Mexican team to compete internationally in the Copa Libertadores.

In 2005 and 2006, they advanced to the semifinals of the competition, and in 2010, they finished as runners-up. Guadalajara is the most popular football team in Mexico, according to a poll of favourite football teams that was published in April 2016 by Euroamericas Sport Marketing Spain. The study found that 44.2 percent of followers in the country root for Guadalajara. According to an estimate made by Forbes in the year 2020, the club’s value was roughly 311.5 million dollars, placing it sixth overall in North America and making it the most valuable in the league.

Stadium

Guadalajara played their home games in a modest venue known as “Parque Oblatos” from the 1930s until the 1960s. Guadalajara and Atlas, two opposing teams from the same town, played their games at the Estadio Jalisco. On January 31, 1960, Estadio Jalisco was officially opened to the public. During the 1970 FIFA World Cup, it served as the venue for eight matches, including six games in the group stage and two each in the quarterfinals and semi-finals.

During the 1986 FIFA World Cup, the venue played host to a total of nine games, six of which were group stage matches, one of which was a round of sixteen match, and the final two games were quarterfinal and semifinal matches. From 1960 to 2010, Chivas played their home games at the Jalisco Stadium. Chivas de Guadalajara owner Jorge Vergara made the decision to build a new stadium after seeing that the existing one was in poor condition and that the team wanted their own own place to play (Jalisco Stadium was always shared with various teams from the city such as Atlas, Club Universidad de Guadalajara, Club Oro among others). The new Chivas administration building was constructed with an investment of one hundred thirty million dollars.

Estadio Jalisco

The construction of Las Chivas’ brand-new stadium was finished in 2010. The Estadio Omnilife was built to resemble a volcano topped with a cloud. It was given its name after the nutrition firm that Vergara owns and operates. Because of its location so close to a wooded area, the stadium was planned with the intention of incorporating elements of nature into its architecture. In addition to that, it serves as a convention center and a Business JVC Center. The construction of the stadium got under way in May of 2007, and it was finished in July of 2010.

All of the seats in the stadium are colored red, with the exception of the loge seats, which are tinted white. It features a sizable primary lobby entry as well as 18 other exits. The total number of seats available is 49,850, and this number includes 330 suites that can each accommodate 9, 11, 12, or 13 people. There is a parking area available underground for suite renters that can accommodate up to 850 vehicles, and there is parking available outside the stadium that can accommodate up to 8,000 vehicles. In addition, there is a museum, a store, and numerous food and beverage stalls within the brand-new stadium. In the not-too-distant future, there are plans to construct a climbing wall in addition to a space designated specifically for children.

The 30th of July, 2010, marked the opening of the stadium. Las Chivas kicked off their inaugural season with a friendly against Manchester United. Chivas came out on top 3–2, with Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez scoring the opening goal for Las Chivas. The name of the stadium was changed to Estadio Chivas in March of 2016. After reaching a 10-year sponsorship agreement with a company that specializes in automotive lubricants, the venue, which had previously been known as Estadio Chivas, officially became Estadio Akron in December of 2017.

Crest

After changing their name to Club Guadalajara in 1908, the players began placing their initials, C.G., in the chest area of their jerseys. The initials of the team were incorporated into the design of the first official crest after the team had already been in existence for a few years. They were eventually arranged in a circle with one another. This pattern would be used on the one-of-a-kind Centennial jerseys that the squad would wear in 2006.

The current coat of arms of Guadalajara was developed in 1923, and it takes its inspiration from the crest of Guadalajara, Jalisco, which serves as its foundation. The emblem was then embellished with a blue circle with the words “Club Deportivo Guadalajara,” five red stripes and six white stripes, which would later become the team’s official colors, and twelve stars, one for each championship that the team has won. Everardo and Jose Espinosa, Angel Bolumar, and Antonio Villalvazo, all of whom were either players or directors of the team at the time, are credited with designing the real crest. They all contributed to the design of the crest.

Ownership

Dietary supplements were distributed by Grupo Omnilife, which was a multi-level marketing organization with its headquarters in Guadalajara. Amaury Vergara, whose father Jorge Carlos Vergara Madrigal died of a heart attack on November 15, 2019, in New York City, is the current owner of the company. Jorge Carlos Vergara Madrigal was the son of Amaury Vergara.
