ABOUT DIEGO

YEAR OF BIRTH: 2004

I am an 18 year old born and raised in San Antonio, Texas apart from the first three and a half years of my life in which my parents raised me in the city of Juarez, Mexico.
I am a 5’7 CAM who has wonderful ball manipulation and technique. I combine football/soccer IQ with natural flair and instinct that allows me to create many chances going forward. I have a strong shot and I do not hesitate to use my left in the moments that I have to, allowing me to be a goal threat apart from creating opportunities. I adore staying involved and it is nearly impossible to see me not looking for the ball to come to me.

I, like many others I’m sure, have not had the easiest of lives. This is something that I take pride in, though, because it has resulted in me learning plenty from my life and my mistakes, and keeps me learning today. I mention this as my upbringing has helped me define myself as a corageous, passionate, and ambitious individual. I am not afraid of a challenge, and I wear my heart on my sleeve, proudly. These traits illustrate the natural leader that I am.

A major setback of mine was lack of support and funds to create opportunity for myself to be seen and to be developed by professionals, therefore I did not play in any of the more attractive clubs in my area. And thought this may sound very unappealing, I do not believe it should discourage whomever this may concern because I have a wonderfully large capacity to learn and adapt quickly. Coupled with the knowledge I already have of the game, I truthfully do not see this as a major setback for me, and if given a chance, I can prove why.

With a fair opportunity, I can certainly become an asset to the people who are not afraid to take a chance at a boy with humble beginnings who just absolutely loves the beautiful game.
