ABOUT SANNA
YEAR OF BIRTH: 1996
My name is Sana Baldeh I was born in The Gambia West Africa, I grew up playing soccer since i was 2 years of age, I went to England when I was 11 I was playing youth developmental academies, I trained with Aston Villa u 14 for sometime and had to go back to Africa due to my citizenship hardship. I played for Real De Banjul from u14 to u16, our senior team was playing in the first division, when I was almost 17 I had an opportunity to play for Real De Banjul, but also I was luckily called up for my interview on my process to come to the United States, due to that reason I did not end up playing for that club. When I got to the States I went to Henry M Jackson high school and played for their first team, and I was quickly selected to be the captain of the first team, after before I graduated I had offers to play division 1 men’s soccer In Pennsylvania but by then my grades was not at a point where I was qualified, Because I started High school in Africa and I had to re-start when I got to America. For that reason, I took a path to go play at a community college for two years on a full-ride scholarship In Washington States. During my time in high school, I had an opportunity to go play for a 4th division team in Spain the following season, when before I left for Spain the team was relegated to 5th division. When I got there they liked me and wanted me to play for them, we both made an agreement. A few days later the owner of the club sold the club to a different founder and those people wanted to wait a year to fix their team again and rejoin the league but at that time I had no time to wait for another year without playing so I came back to the States and signed for a 3rd division team in Virginia we played in the USL League Two. Due to that reason of opportunity, I did not end up completing my education as I went to Spain to chase my dreams, and school was getting late to go back to and play. After two seasons in Virginia, I was signed by a different team called Reading United AC and I saw they helped most of the players go MLS or Pro somewhere else and was very excited for that journey. The team I played for In Spain was called FC Benidorm and the team I signed for in Virginia was Evergreen Hammers now known as Northern Virginia FC. After I got transfer to fc Reading I had an opportunity to go on and Trial for a second-division team in Turkey the team was called Balekisispor FC in Belikersir in Turkey. I stayed and was on a trial for about 2 months they extended my trial month after month and I was there for about 6 months. During my time there covid came and mess up my opportunity so I was told they going to suspend the season until The government says so, everyone was Isolating at that time Covid was at its peak, So I had to come back to the States. And here I am still trying my level best.
