Envigado Fútbol Club is a Colombian professional football team based in Envigado, Colombia. The club currently plays in the Categoría Primera A, the country’s highest level of professional football.

Envigado Futbol School

Our Sports Initiation and Training School has children from 2 years old to 13 years old, in the categories of 2008 to 2020 for boys and 2020 to 2017 for girls. Through the phenomenon of football we seek that our children enjoy sport first, and with it, we seek in them to achieve a comprehensive education. We have a qualified human team, ideal sports settings, and a methodological plan according to the needs of each child. Parents also have a key role in accompanying us in these training processes. We trust that together we can ensure that each of our youth squads has a positive and significant experience in their sports career that will serve them for life.

Envigado FC History

The club was established on October 14, 1989, and it became the first Colombian team from the second division to be promoted to the Categora Primera A in 1991. The club’s anniversary date is October 14.

The club is well-known for the high standard of its youth program and the large number of current and former international talents who got their start with the club. Some of these players include James Rodriguez, Fredy Guarn, Juan Fernando Quintero, Jhon Cordoba, and Mateus Uribe, among others. It is consistently ranked as one of the top youth academies in South America by numerous observers.

Their first qualification for an international tournament was for the Copa Sudamericana in 2012, but they were eliminated at the Second Stage after winning 2-0 on aggregate against Unión Comercio of Peru and losing 2-1 to Liverpool of Uruguay. This was their first qualification for an international tournament.

The majority of the events that take place in the Estadio Polideportivo Sur in Envigado, Colombia are football matches. This stadium serves as a multi-purpose venue. The stadium first opened its doors in 1992 and can now accommodate 11,000 spectators. This stadium serves as the venue for all of Envigado FC’s home games.

In preparation for the South American Games that were hosted in Medelln in 2010, the stadium underwent renovations in 2009. During the renovations, a roof was constructed to the main portion of the stadium to protect the fans from the elements. Additionally, the green spaces surrounding the stadium were made to be more aesthetically pleasing.
