Yong Sports Academy History

Yong Francis, who had previously worked as a referee in football games, established Yong Sports Academy in the year 2004. During that time, they were the only team in the Northwest Region of Cameroon to play in the top level. In the beginning, YOSA had a difficult time qualifying for Inter-polls, which is the playoff for qualification for the First Division Championship. The majority of their competition came from more established teams. The team took first place in Cameroon’s National Football Cup in 2013.

The Bamenda Municipal Stadium At the YOSA Academy, which is located on the outskirts of Nkwen Bamenda, there are two professional-level playing fields. YOSA plays its games at the city stadium despite the fact that it is in disrepair so that it can accommodate its expanding fan base. This is due to the fact that the majority of the club’s supporters live in the downtown area of the city.
