Football School
This project, developed by the Rionegro Sports Corporation , seeks to recreate the little ones around the most beautiful sport of all. The classes are totally free and serve as a space for recreation, training and sports base for children between 6 and 12 years of age.
Currently we do not have open registrations, but we will inform you in a timely manner on social media when the process begins.
The child must be between 6 and 12 years old, and cannot be linked to another football school.
Although the process is essentially thought of the children of eastern Antioquia, the rest of the department also has the possibility of being linked.
Our Soccer School is totally free.
At our La Morelia sports headquarters.
History
After a group of investors led by José Fernando Salazar, a former football player, purchased the team Bajo Cauca and moved it to Itagü in 2008, the new team’s first season began that same year. The team performed exceptionally well in the Categora Primera B competition.
In 2010, they triumphed over their competition, earned promotion to the Primera Categora, and advanced all the way to the championship game of the Copa Colombia. As the Itagü Ditaires, they made their debut in the Categora Primera A in the year 2011. This was also the first time in the history of the Categora Primera A that four clubs from the same department contested for the top prize.
After a disagreement between the club’s chairman and the mayor of Itagü regarding the financial support the club received from the city’s administration, the team was kicked out of Itagü in May of 2014. This conflict was the cause of the expulsion.
The mayor made the decision to expel the club from the city after being publicly chastised by the club’s chairman for the little support provided to the club. The mayor’s decision to expel the club came after the mayor was publicly criticized for the lack of support provided to the club. This incident resulted in the team changing its name to ‘guilas Pereira, moving to the city of Pereira, and playing its home matches at Hernán Ramrez Villegas stadium.
This change was approved by DIMAYOR’s Assembly during an extraordinary meeting on July 14, 2014, and the move to Pereira and the stadium were both part of the move. The club relocated to Rionegro in March 2015, at which time it changed its name to ‘guilas Doradas. On January 5, 2016, the club announced that it would be changing its name to Rionegro ‘guilas and that the color of its uniform would be changed from its typical golden to red.
