Remo Stars FC History

Mr. Kunle Soname had the idea in 2004 to start a grassroots football club in Ketu, Lagos State, Nigeria. The primary purpose of the club was to provide a venue for the young people of Ketu to participate in leisure activities. He established the football team in Lagos under the name FC DENDER. The club’s unrelenting efforts paid off in 2010, when they were promoted to the Nigeria National League, which is the second highest level of competition in Nigerian football (NNL). As a result of further developments, the club’s management decided to rebrand the organization.

The rebranding effort includes changing the club’s name to “REMO STARS FOOTBALL CLUB” after FC DENDER relocated to its current base in REMOLAND and subsequently changed its moniker to reflect its new location. After gaining promotion in 2016, they participated in the Nigerian Premier League, which is the highest level of competition in Nigerian football.

The Remo Stars football team was demoted from the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) to the Nigeria National League in the 2018 season. Following their second-place finish in Group A of the playoffs for the Nigeria National League (NNL), Remo Stars were able to regain their spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in September 2021.

After that, the club relocates to Remo Land, which is located in the state of Ogun, and they continue to call Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode their home venue for their matches until they are promoted for the 2017 season.
