Coritiba Foot Ball Club, simply known as Coritiba is a Brazilian football club from Curitiba, capital city of the Brazilian state of Paraná. The club competes in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the top flight of Brazilian football.

One of the greatest assets of a great football club is the talents of the youth teams. With this in mind, Coritiba strengthens the training of young athletes, seeking to mold promising athletes to serve the club and also the market.
Currently, all categories of the club are integrated with the aim of inserting a common standard among the work proposed for athletes. The preparation for games and competitions is carried out at the Bayard Osna Training Center and at the Major Antônio Couto Pereira stadium and has professionals exclusively dedicated to the professionalization of the players.
From the smaller categories, the work methodology covers the training of athletes and also citizens, according to the age of the athletes.

Coritiba SUB-20
The Under-20 category has athletes between 18 and 20 years old, mostly players heading for the Professional category, just one step away from the dream of becoming a football player.
It is precisely in this category that athletes complete the training process and begin the transition to professional football. The trainings take place daily, at the Graciosa Training Center, at times similar to the main team of Coritiba.
Coritiba’s Under-20 team is the current champion of the Paranaense Championship and of the international tournament, the Dallas Cup. The club understands that high level competitions are fundamental parts of the process of training athletes, so the titles are important.

Coritiba U-17
The youth category (U-17) is fundamental in the process of training the athlete, because it is there that the period of correction and professional preparation takes place. It is also in the U-17 that the player definition process begins, whether or not he will work in a professional team. Coritiba is the current champion of the BC Cup U16.
The level of performance required of athletes in the youth category is similar to that of juniors, training takes place daily with a view to improving the technical and tactical part of each player and the matches are made up of two 40-minute periods.

The children’s category (U-15) is one of the most important within the process of training an athlete. It is during this period that the boys begin all the learning and preparation for the career itself.
With several national competitions, it is in the children’s category that athletes start to live the daily life of a soccer player. The trainings take place every day and the duration of the game is two times of 35 minutes.
Coritiba’s team is one of the most respected in the children’s category. Coxa is the current champion of the Votorantim Cup of Brazil and is also Paranaense Champion.

Coritiba SUB-13 and SUB-11
It is in the Child (Under-11) and Pre-child (Under-13) categories that athletes start the training process, interact with football and prepare for the child category, where preparation begins in a practical way of a player’s career. Coritiba is the current metropolitan champion of both categories.
Some rules for these categories are different from the usual ones. Playing time, for example, is reduced; at Mirim it is 25 minutes each time and halfway through each stage there is still a technical break. In Pre-Infant, on the other hand, there are 30 minutes in each time and interval at 15. Up to nine substitutions are allowed and when an athlete is expelled, a reserve can join the team. Yellow cards are only valid for the match and the athletes are not judged, with the risk of serving suspension in the next game.

Coritiba Coxa School
The Coxa School Selection project started its activities in 2016, idealized by the Coritiba FC athletes capture sector and the coordination of the Coxa School project, aiming to capture, monitor and enhance new talents for the basic categories of Coritiba FC Work developed through training, high performance and selective competitions, the athletes being accompanied by coaches and other members of the project’s technical committee.
How The School Works
The groups are formed by an average of 30 students / athletes per category (U-11 and U-13), which are distributed as follows, 15 athletes born in the first year of the category, and 15 athletes born in the second year of the category, the groups have always been renewed with the arrival and departure of athletes.
The following students / athletes participated in this project:
Students / athletes from all units of the Escola Coxa Project, spread throughout Brazil, who have identified their evaluative potential, through the Coritiba FC fundraising sector and technical observation of the Escola Coxa project;
Students / athletes who have already participated in a selection process at Coritiba FC and have been released, but had their potential for evolution identified and need a better evolution;
Students / athletes who are in the process of MONITORING by the Coritiba FC fundraising sector;
Students / athletes indicated by the fundraising sector, technical observation of the Escola Coxa project and franchised units.
The athletes selected for the Coxa School Selection, will have two training sessions and an official or friendly match per week, with the objective of stimulating the evolution in football. In addition to competitions with national and international teams twice a year.
Methodology
The concepts to be applied in these teams were the same as Coritiba FC works with these age groups, applying a teaching approach that contemplates all the necessary requirements for technical, tactical, physical, psychological and social development, making this process instigating and motivating , taking them out of their comfort zone, thus enhancing their playing capabilities. The follow-up of the evolution of these athletes happens through observations in training and games, collecting information that can evidence the evaluative potential of this group of athletes, those that stand out are selected for a technical evaluation in the basic categories of the club.

Coritiba History
Coritiba was the first club from southern Brazil to win a national championship when it took home the Torneio do Povo in 1973. They were also the first club from the south to compete in both the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana, which are the two most important competitions on the continent. Coritiba was the first club from Paraná to win the Série A, which is the most prestigious title in Brazil.
Additionally, the club was the first from Paraná to reach the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil in 1991, 2001, and 2009, and the first from Paraná to reach the finals in 2011 and 2012. Coritiba was also the first to win the Copa do Brasil in 2011 and 2012. The only club to win six consecutive Paranaense titles was Coritiba, and they did so between the years 1971 and 1976. Additionally, Coritiba is the club that has participated in this competition the most times overall.
The club’s current standings in the various rankings include first place in the FPF ranking, 14th place in the CBF rating, 83rd place in the Conmebol ranking, and 125th place in the IFFHS international ranking. More than 30,000 people are a part of this organization.
As of the year 2013, Coritiba has formed ties with the Portuguese clubs Porto and Benfica, the Mexican club Chivas Guadalajara, the South Korean club Daegu, and the Dutch club VVV-Venlo. These partnerships include the lending and trading of young players. The Coritiba football team is the first in the southern region of Brazil to start playing American football. Coritiba is located in the state of Paraná.
The Coritiba Crocodiles are a team that has won the Brazilian championship once, as well as the titles of state champion five times, and southern conference champion twice. They came into existence as a result of a merger between Coritiba and the Barigui Crocodiles.
Stadium
The Coritiba Foot Ball Club calls Estádio Major Antônio Couto Pereira, which is often abbreviated to just Couto Pereira, their home field. It is located in Curitiba, which is in the state of Paraná in Brazil. It is named after Major Antônio Couto Pereira, who served as president of Coritiba in 1926, 1927, and between 1930 and 1933. The formal name was given in his honor. The construction of the stadium was initiated by him.
The stadium’s general attendance capacity is 40,502.
Crest
The club uses the colors green and white, which are also found on the flag of the state of Paraná. Coritiba is the “green and white” team in Brazilian football that has been around the longest and was established on October 12, 1909.
The initials “CFC” are written in white across the middle of a green globe, which also features twelve stylized pine seeds in the same color. This is the club’s logo. The colors green and white used in the logo are the same colors used in the flag of the state of Paraná. The original Coritiba logo consisted of just three elements: a white background, a green circle, and the initials CFC written in green.
