Arsenal de Sarandí History
The football squad is currently competing in Primera División, which is the highest level of competition available within the Argentine football league system. The Estadio Julio H. Grondona, which is named after one of the founders of the organization and has a capacity of 16,000, is where the team plays their games at home. It first opened its doors in 1964, but it wasn’t until 2004 that it was used in the First Division.
In homage to Avellaneda’s historic sports teams, the colors red and light blue have been adopted as the club’s official colors (Independiente and Racing). The year 2012 was Arsenal’s maiden voyage to the top of Spain’s Primera División. The club’s most prestigious victory up until that point had been the 2007 Copa Sudamericana victory.
