Western Sydney Wanderers Football Club (colloquially known as Western Sydney, or simply as Wanderers) is an Australian professional soccer club based in the Western Sydney region of Sydney, New South Wales. It competes in the country’s premier soccer competition, the A-League, under license from Football Federation Australia (FFA).

History
The FFA initiated the formation of Wanderers in April 2012 with the intention of establishing a strong focus on the community. The club’s name, colors, culture, and playing style were all selected with the assistance of the local community in a series of community forums held across Western Sydney.
The club’s groundbreaking first season helped them win the A-League premiership and advanced them to the 2013 A-League Grand Final. After that, the team continued their success in the competition by reaching the A-League Grand Final in 2014 and finishing in second place overall in the league during their second season. In their first season competing in the Champions League, the club not only became the first Australian team to ever win the event but also the first to ever be declared Asian champions.
The club is operated out of a building located in Blacktown, and Bankwest Stadium is the venue for all of its games at the moment. The original Parramatta Stadium, which served as their home ground for many years, was shut down and demolished in 2017 as part of the process of constructing the new stadium.
A youth team from the academy takes part in competitions held by the National Youth League and the National Premier Leagues of New South Wales. The W-League features the participation of at least one women’s team.
The youth and women’s matches are held all around Western Sydney, at venues such as Marconi Stadium, Campbelltown Stadium, and Cook Park, among others. Additionally, the club fields a Powerchair Football squad that participates in the NSW Western Division Powerchair Football League. Matches for this team are held at the Football NSW Headquarters.
