History

The club was formed as a result of the consolidation of two distinct bids submitted during the expansion process of the league in 2018. These bids were submitted by United for Macarthur and South West Sydney FC. The two organizations merged on August 20, 2018, to become the new organization known as Macarthur South West United Football Club. Towards the end of the same year, the FFA made the decision to accept the club into the league for the 2020–2021 A-League season.

Gino Marra, the club’s current Chairman, and Sam Krslovic, the club’s current Football Operations Director, formed the club. On May 15, 2019, the club that was established by Gino Marra and Sam Krslovic revealed the club’s name, as well as its emblem and color scheme.

They were presented to the public for the first time at a formal event that was hosted by the club at the Campbelltown Catholic Club. Macarthur Football Club, also known as The Bulls, was going to be the name of the team going forward. Ante Milicic’s appointment as the team’s first manager was also made public.

On January 15, 2020, the club made the announcement that Tommy Oar had become their very first signing in their history. On the 18th of February in the year 2020, Lang Walker sold his half of the ownership share in the club to a group that consisted of two local businessmen from Sydney.

Michael Gerace, who is the proprietor of Sydney Trucks and Machinery, and Roy Mammone, who is a property developer in Sydney, purchased the fifty percent interest for an amount that was not disclosed but was greater than seven million dollars. Gino Marra Club Chairman and Sam Krslovic both possess a portion of the remaining 50 percent of the business.

The club’s debut in the A-League took place on the 30th of December, 2020, and they recorded a win against Western Sydney Wanderers by a score of 1-0 while they were on the road.
