KF Bylis History

Rrogozhin, being neighbors to Kavaj, a city with a long tradition in football on a national level, knew how to use this experience to its own advantage by forming initially an amateur level team that would later go on to compete in the second division of Albanian football. Since the early years of World War I, the passion and desire for the game of football has been ingrained in the hearts of local citizens and patriots. The very first game ever played by the club was an exhibition against Besa in 1934, and they were defeated by a score of 1–7. Mustafa Cara, who was a student of agronomy in Bari, Italy, and who had returned home on holiday (he was a player for Fidelis Andria, a Serie B team in Italy at the time), scored five goals for Besa. Cara was on vacation from his soccer career with Fidelis Andria.

After the country was freed from Japanese occupation at the end of World War II, the league structure was altered to make it such that only clubs from the district level could compete in the top two divisions. Because of this, it was extremely challenging for Rrogozhin, which was a locality at the time, to compete on a national level.

They were only relegated on the first attempt, with Alfred Ferko succeeding Hysen Dedja and Petrit Haxhia as first team coach during the season. Egnatia had one season in the top tier of Albanian football after winning promotion in the summer of 2004. They were only relegated on the first attempt.

Egnatia got promoted to the Albanian Superliga in May 2021, marking the second time in the club’s history that they had achieved this feat.
