UE Santa Coloma History

On September 23, 1986, the University of Santa Coloma (UE Santa Coloma) was established in the town of Santa Coloma. The club decided to make a significant improvement to the standard of athletic competition in the country and opened a football academy in 1996. The club served as a development squad for a number of Andorran teams, notably FC Santa Coloma, for a number of seasons. After being idle for a number of years, the first football department squad was refounded in 2006. That same year, the team participated in the Andorran football league’s Segona Divisió for the first time.

As a result of the team’s victory in the Segona Divisió during the 2007–08 season, it now competes in the Primera Divisió. After finishing in second place in the league during the 2009–10 season, the club qualified for its first-ever involvement in a European tournament by qualifying for the UEFA Europa League in the 2010–11 season.

After taking on Sant Julià and winning 3–2 in the regulation time of the Copa Constitució in 2013, the squad finally brought home their first title. Following a victory over UE Engordany by a score of 3-0 in 2016, UE Santa Coloma successfully defended their title as the champion of the Andorran Cup.

UE Santa Coloma Stadium

The matches of the Primera Divisió and Segona Divisió are organized by the Andorran Football Federation and played at the venues that are controlled by the Andorran Football Federation. In addition, the federation is responsible for allocating the stadiums and playing fields that will be used for the training sessions of each team.

Since the 2016–17 season, FC Encamp has been the only team in Encamp to have its very own stadium, which is known as Camp de Futbol d’Encamp and is located in Prada de Moles. Former matches from the Primera Divisió and Segona Divisió were played at the Camp d’Esports d’Aixovall up to the year 2016.
