The year 2020 was also marked because it was the first in history in which we formed an Under-23 team. The challenge started there in January and we would know that it would not be easy. We played in the A2 Series of the Paulista Championship with a young squad and we did not expect an easy life. And we really didn’t.

We achieved, with a lot of sweat, the main objective. We face traditional teams from São Paulo and remain in the A2 Series. And the competition also brought us pleasant surprises. Young players, aged 17 and 18, who performed and showed that we are on the right path to develop new talents.

In the second semester, we also did not disappoint the first time we played in the Brazilian Championship of Aspirants. Gradually we conquered our space in the competition and reached the second stage. We were out of the semifinal by just one goal, but experience and performance made us sure that we will continue to work to reap even greater fruits!

Red Bull Bragantino History

Before Red Bull GmbH took over the administration of the club in 2020, it was known as Clube Atlético Bragantino. When they did so, they renamed the club and switched its colors from the traditional black and white to red and white.

Additionally, the club’s name was modified. During the 2019 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B (the second tier of Brazilian football), the squad was known as “Bragantino,” and Red Bull appeared exclusively as a sponsor. This is despite the fact that the agreement didn’t start until April 2019. During the promotion for the year 2020, the name was changed to “Red Bull Bragantino.”

They were champions of the 2019 Série B, which earned them promotion to the Série A and a spot in the round of 16 of the 2020 Copa do Brasil. This was their first season competing at this level.
