Thank you for being here!
Hi, I’m Carlos! A coach, sports enthusiast, and the founder of FCScout.com.
I fell in love with the game at a very young age like many of you. I’ve been following and playing soccer for many years.
Throughout my career, I always enjoyed helping soccer players chase their dreams, which is why I started this website. I wanted to reach a larger audience outside of my local area and fcscout.com was born.
This website is a platform I will be using to update club pages on any tryouts, stadiums, players, tech, and more from clubs around the world. I also create free recruitment profiles for players looking to have that extra competitive edge when reaching out to clubs.
That’s it. That’s my pitch for you to stick around (or browse the site as you please).
This is already too much text for a “see more” drop-down button thing. If you want to reach out to me, head on over to my contact page 🙂

Benfica History
Benfica is one of the “Big Three” teams in Portugal, along with its rivals Sporting CP and FC Porto, in that it has never been demoted from the Primeira Liga despite having been established on February 28, 1904 under the name Sport Lisboa. Benfica are referred to as As guias (The Eagles) and Os Encarnados (The Reds) due to the color of their shirt and the symbol that sits atop the club’s crest, respectively.
Since 2003, their home field has been the Estádio da Luz, which succeeded the larger and more venerable stadium that had been there since its construction in 1954. With over 230,000 members and an estimated 14 million supporters worldwide, Benfica is the most supported Portuguese club and the European club with the highest percentage of supporters in its own country.
Benfica is also the club in Europe with the highest percentage of supporters in its own country. The supporters of Benfica are known as benfiquistas, and the name of the club’s anthem, “Ser Benfiquista,” refers to them. The club’s slogan is “E pluribus unum,” and the mascot is an eagle named Vitória.
The Portuguese Orders of Christ, Prince Henry, and Merit have been bestowed upon Benfica as a mark of respect and admiration. Benfica is the most decorated club in Portugal in terms of its success in competitive play, having won 84 total trophies (85 if you count the Latin Cup).
They have won 80 domestic trophies: a record 37 Primeira Liga titles, a record 26 Taca de Portugal, a record 7 Taca da Liga, 8 Supertaca Candido de Oliveira and 3 Campeonato de Portugal. Internationally, they were runners-up at the Intercontinental Cup in 1961 and ’62, at the European Cup in 1963, 1965, 1968, and 1990, and at the UEFA Cup/Europa League in 1983, 2013 and ’14. This was a first for Portuguese football.
They also won back-to-back European Cups in 1961 and 1962, which is a feat that has never been accomplished in Portuguese football. In 2014, Benfica was rated seventh all-time among UEFA clubs for its ten appearances in European finals, which set a new domestic record. The FIFA Club of the Century voting placed Benfica in the 12th spot, and the IFFHS placed them in the 9th spot of the Top 200 European clubs of the 20th century. Benfica is now ranked 9th in the all-time club rankings within UEFA, and they were 20th in the club coefficient rankings as the 2019–20 season came to a close.
Benfica had the second most participations in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League (40), a tournament in which they hold the overall record for the highest aggregate win, which they accomplished in 1965–66. As of the 2020–21 season, Benfica will have the second most participations in the event. In addition, Benfica currently holds both the record for the most consecutive wins in a domestic league in Europe as well as the record for the longest unbeaten run in Primeira Liga, the league in which they became the first undefeated champions in the 1972–1973 season. Both of these records were set during the 1972–1973 season.
Stadium
The Estádio da Luz, also known as the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, is a multi-purpose stadium that can be found in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon. The Portuguese club S.L. Benfica, which is the owner of the stadium, uses it mostly for association football matches and plays its home games there.
It was opened on October 25, 2003, with an exhibition match between Benfica and the Uruguayan club Nacional. It replaced the previous Estádio da Luz, which had a seating capacity of 120,000 spectators. The current capacity of the venue is 64,642, which is down from the previous number of 65,647 seats. The construction of the stadium was said to have cost 162 million euros and was designed by HOK Sport Venue Event.
