Stadium
Parque de Jogos Comendador Joaquim de Almeida Freitas is a multi-use stadium in Moreira de Cónegos, Braga, Portugal. It is currently used for football matches and serves as the home stadium for Moreirense. The stadium has a capacity of 9,000 people and is currently used for these activities.
The team earned two promotions in a row, leading to the construction of the stadium in 2002. Both of those promotions were successful. The stadium was built specifically for the purpose of hosting Moreirense’s home games for their inaugural season in the Primeira Liga in 2002–2003.
Throughout the course of the season, the club received a significant deal of criticism regarding its lighting towers as well as the safety circumstances that existed around the stadium.
Because of this, the team was forced to temporarily vacate the stadium for a period of a few weeks so that the League association could conduct an investigation to determine whether or not the required facilities and circumstances were in place to protect the safety of the fans and the players. After some time, it was determined that it was okay to play in the stadium.
