BACK TO SPAIN CLUBS

Hi, I’m Carlos! A coach, sports enthusiast, and the founder of FCScout.com.

I fell in love with the game at a very young age like many of you. I’ve been following and playing soccer for many years.

Throughout my career, I always enjoyed helping soccer players chase their dreams, which is why I started this website. I wanted to reach a larger audience outside of my local area and fcscout.com was born.

This website is a platform I will be using to update club pages on any tryouts, stadiums, players, tech, and more from clubs around the world. I also create free recruitment profiles for players looking to have that extra competitive edge when reaching out to clubs.

That’s it. That’s my pitch for you to stick around (or browse the site as you please).

This is already too much text for a “see more” drop-down button thing. If you want to reach out to me, head on over to my contact page 🙂

Getafe CF History

Between the years 2004 and 2016, Getafe competed at the highest level of Spanish football, and they have returned to that competition since 2017. The club’s primary rivalry is with its neighbors Leganés, whose headquarters are located close to the town of Getafe. They also have a friendly rivalry with Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid.

Stadium

Coliseum Alfonso Pérez is where Getafe play their home games. It is located in Getafe. The dimensions of the pitch are 105 meters long and 70 meters wide. On January 1, 1998, the stadium was officially opened, and it was given its current name in honor of Alfonso Pérez, a Spanish international and former player for Real Madrid. Even though he never played for Getafe, against Getafe, or even at the stadium, he is maybe the most famous footballer to come out of the area, and he was at the pinnacle of his career in the middle of the 1990s. Getafe Stadium is named after him.

Getafe’s home games were previously played at the Estadio de las Margaritas, which is located nearby and is a component of the larger Sports City of Las Margaritas. More recently, Getafe has been playing their home games in the Coliseum. After then, the Coliseum was constructed as a logical extension to the considerably more modest facilities that were already present at Las Margaritas. The stadium has had a number of upgrades since it first opened, and it can now accommodate 14,400 people, with space for several thousand additional people to stand.

As a result, the precise capacity is imprecise and subject to change. The stadium is typically packed during Getafe’s home matches against Real and Atlético Madrid, as well as matches against Barcelona, the most notable of which took place in the cup semi-final in 2006–2007. Before their second leg match against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Cup quarter-final, Getafe pre-sold out the entirety of the Coliseum for the first time in their club’s history.

The match was against Bayern Munich. Along with Getafe’s club president, Angel Torres, who is interested in expanding the capacity of the Coliseum to accommodate 20,000 spectators, Madrid has shown interest in hosting the Olympic Games in 2012. This redevelopment is currently in jeopardy as a result of this bid not being successful and weak audience averages. Getafe hold their training sessions at the nearby Sports City. These facilities include a number of training fields that are equipped with both natural and artificial turf, as well as full medical rooms and facilities for recovery.

Crest

The initial version of Getafe’s emblem was a trial version consisting of a bright blue circular badge with an extremely wide edge and a red center. The weaving flag served as the primary graphic component of the design. It was rendered in the same shade of blue as the rest of the emblem and had yellow writing and a handle.

The revamp that took place in 2011 gave the classic emblem a more contemporary and elegant appearance. All of the components of the insignia were given a thin silver outline, and the framing was changed so that it had a bit of a gradient, which contributed to the impression of movement and volume. The wordmark has also been redone, and it is now produced in a narrowed sans-serif typeface, which appears reliable and fashionable.

Ownership

An industrialist and businessman in Spain, Angel Torres Sánchez was born in Recas, Toledo, in 1952. He is currently the owner of the Getafe Football Club and serves as its executive president.

Pedro Castro, who was the mayor of Getafe at the time, persuaded Torres to purchase the Getafe Football Club in 2002. At the time, the club was going through a challenging period both on the field and financially. 3 The businessman led the club to its first-ever promotion to the First Division in just three seasons, which occurred in the 2003–2004 season. During his tenure as president of Getafe CF, the club competed in European events including the UEFA Cup and advanced to the finals of the Copa del Rey in both 2007 and 2008.
