Hi, I’m Carlos! A coach, sports enthusiast, and the founder of FCScout.com.

I fell in love with the game at a very young age like many of you. I’ve been following and playing soccer for many years.

Throughout my career, I always enjoyed helping soccer players chase their dreams, which is why I started this website. I wanted to reach a larger audience outside of my local area and fcscout.com was born.

This website is a platform I will be using to update club pages on any tryouts, stadiums, players, tech, and more from clubs around the world. I also create free recruitment profiles for players looking to have that extra competitive edge when reaching out to clubs.

That’s it. That’s my pitch for you to stick around (or browse the site as you please).

This is already too much text for a “see more” drop-down button thing. If you want to reach out to me, head on over to my contact page 🙂

Stumptown AC History

The National Independent Soccer Association made the initial announcement regarding the squad on October 23, 2018, following an initial bid that was submitted during the end of 2017, with the intention of beginning play during the first season of 2019–20. Stumptown Athletic was initially only called “Charlotte” in the news releases issued by the league until June 2019, when it was officially introduced as the team’s name.

The origin of the term can be traced back to an early nickname for Matthews, which came up as a result of the fact that farmers cut down so many trees to clear land that the town was filled with tree stumps. Casey Carr, a former college soccer player for the DePaul Blue Demons and an entrepreneur based out of Mecklenburg County, and Christopher Clarke, a lawyer specializing in wealth management, were the original owners of the team. Christopher Clarke is from Atlanta, and Casey Carr is from Mecklenburg County.

Carr also held the positions of general manager and president of the club. Mark Steffens was hired by the organization as the new head coach on July 21, 2019. A former head coach for both the Charlotte Eagles and the Charlotte Lady Eagles, Steffens is currently the head coach for the Charlotte Knights. Michael Binns and Jared Odenbeck, both of whom have previously played for the Jamaica national football team, were revealed as Stumptown’s first acquisitions in the month of August.

During the showcase that took place in the Fall of 2019, Stumptown competed inside the East Coast Conference and ended up finishing in second place in their group. The team was defeated by Miami FC in the championship game by a score of 3–0.

Due to the epidemic, NISA decided to suspend play in the sport after only two matches had been played during the Spring 2020 season. After some time, the remainder of the Spring Season was finally scrapped entirely. The original front office of the squad decided to dissolve the club when the team went on a hiatus after the Fall 2020 season.

On March 3, 2021, the club was resurrected and given the moniker Stumptown AC. Fred Matthes, a soccer executive, and Rod Underwood, a former assistant coach for the Portland Timbers, were respectively announced as the new president of the team and head coach of the team. The Queen City Royals are the fans’ group for the club; they were established in 2015.
