Rio Grande Valley FC, also known as RGVFC or Rio Grande Valley FC Toros, is an American professional soccer team based in Edinburg, Texas operated by Lone Star, LLC. They joined the USL Championship in the 2016 season. Lone Star has the same ownership team as the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Gatorade League with Alonzo Cantu as majority owner.

History
A USL club for the 2016 season was announced at a meeting with Dynamo officials in September 2014 about the creation of a USL team.
When the Rio Grande Valley Vipers were given a franchise in the NBA D-League in March of 2015, Bert Garcia revealed that the Houston Dynamo will likely serve as the team’s affiliate in the United States Soccer League (MLS). The Houston Dynamo signed Charly Flores, a graduate of the Dynamo Academy, in December 2015 as the first player of the Toros.
Stadium
In Edinburg, Texas, the team plays in a soccer-specific stadium with a capacity of 9,400 spectators. After the Toros played three games at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s soccer complex to kick off the 2016 USL season, it was scheduled to open. As a result, the stadium was never ready to host a game in 2016. On March 22, 2017, the Toros met Mexico’s C.F. Monterrey in a stadium-opening game at H-E-B Park, which was constructed in the first quarter of 2017. Rayados defeated the Toros in an exhibition match 0–3. On April 12, 2017, the Toros defeated the Colorado Springs Switchbacks in their inaugural game at H-E-B Park. Their current home attendance record is 7,820, set against the Oklahoma City Energy on April 29, 2017.
