Chattanooga Red Wolves History

The United Soccer League made the announcement on August 1, 2018, that Chattanooga will be given an exemption in order to participate in the league’s newly constructed third division for the 2019 season. A month later, on September 11, 2018, the club made the announcement that Tim Hankinson would serve as their first head coach. On September 25, 2018, the club finally made the announcement that Chattanooga Red Wolves SC would be its official name.

Additionally, the club operates two semi-professional teams in USL League Two. These clubs compete under the names Dalton Red Wolves and Park City Red Wolves. The CRWSC made the announcement that the Lady Red Wolves would become a founding member of the USL W League on June 8, 2021. The team would begin playing in the league the following year in 2022.

Chattanooga Red Wolves Stadium

The CHI Memorial Stadium in East Ridge, Tennessee, is the state’s first stadium designed just for the sport of soccer. The stadium has a capacity of 5,500 spectators. The Chattanooga Red Wolves SC of USL League One, the Chattanooga Lady Red Wolves SC of the Women’s Premier Soccer League, and the Dalton Red Wolves SC of USL League Two all call it their home stadium.

The opening game of the stadium, which featured the Red Wolves taking on FC Tucson, took place on August 1, 2020.
