Colorado Rapids 2 is a professional soccer club based in the Denver, Colorado area that will compete in the MLS Next Pro league, the third division of American soccer. The team is owned by and operates as the reserve team of, the Major League Soccer club Colorado Rapids.
Colorado Rapids 2 Youth Development System
Rapids 2 will participate in the inaugural season in the league. While we have been happy with the returns from our USL affiliations, the addition of this team gives us full control of and the ability to include more players in this critical development phase. Our current player development program offerings will evolve to the following beginning in January 2022:

Colorado Rapids 2 History
On December 6, 2021, it was announced that the Colorado Rapids will be one of the 21 clubs who would participate in the new Major League Soccer Next Pro league beginning with the 2022 season. The Rapids made the announcement that the squad would be known as the Colorado Rapids 2 and that Brian Crookham would serve as the general manager of the franchise.

The Rapids made the announcement on February 10, 2022, that former Trinidad & Tobago international player Erik Bushey would be taking over as head coach, and Brian Haynes would join him as an assistant coach.
Colorado Rapids 2 Stadium
A stadium dedicated just to the sport of soccer may be found in Denver, Colorado. This venue is known as the Denver Soccer Stadium or the CIBER Field at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. It is home to the soccer teams of the University of Denver known as the Denver Pioneers, as well as the Colorado Rapids 2 of the Major League Soccer Next Pro. Additionally, as of June 2016, it is also the home of the professional rugby team known as the Denver Stampede.

The building has a capacity of 2,000 people and has been operational since 2009. Both the women’s and men’s soccer teams of the Pioneers have competed in the NCAA tournament at this venue in the past.
