Juventus Football Club, simply known as Juventus or Juve, is a professional football club based in Turin, Piedmont, Italy. The club competes in Serie A, the top flight of Italian football.

Juventus FC Youth Development System

The Juventus youth set-up has been recognized as one of the best in Italy for producing young talents. While not all graduates made it to the first team, many have enjoyed successful careers in the Italian top flight. Under long-time coach Vincenzo Chiarenza, the Primavera (Under-20) squad enjoyed one of its successful periods, winning all age-group competitions from 2004 to 2006. Like Dutch club Ajax and many Premier League clubs, Juventus operates several satellite clubs and football schools outside of the country (i.e. United States, Canada, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Switzerland) and numerous camps in the local region to expand talent scouting.

The youth system is also notable for its contribution to the Italian national senior and youth teams. 1934 World Cup winner Gianpiero Combi, 1936 Gold Medal and 1938 World Cup winner Pietro Rava, Giampiero Boniperti, Roberto Bettega, 1982 World Cup hero Paolo Rossi and more recently Claudio Marchisio and Sebastian Giovinco are a number of former graduates who have gone on to make the first team and full Italy squad.

Juventus F.C. Under-23

Juventus Football Club Under-23, also known as Juventus U23 or colloquially as Juventus B, is a professional football club based in Turin, Piedmont, Italy, which acts as the reserve team of Serie A club Juventus. Juventus U23 play their home games at the Stadio Giuseppe Moccagatta in Alessandria, a comune about 100 km away from Turin.

Founded in 2018, Juventus U23 competes in Serie C, the third level of the Italian football league system. The team plays in the same professional league system as their senior team, rather than a separate league dedicated for youth teams. However, the reserve team cannot play in the same division as their senior team, currently making Juventus U23 ineligible for promotion to the Serie A. Juventus U23 has won a Coppa Italia Serie C, in 2019–20, after beating Ternana in the final.

Juventus F.C. UNDER 19

The Juventus Berretti Squad is the Juventus football team composed by Under 19 footballers. According to Italian Football’s hierarchy, it’s before to the ‘Allievi’ squads. The team currently competes in the Italian “Dante Berretti” Championship and they have the third most titles in that youth competition join to Fiorentina and Internazionale.

Juventus are also the join record holders -with Internazionale- for the number of Carlin’s Boys International Tournament titles won (6), one of the most prestigious U-19 championships in the world recognized by FIFA and the oldest official youth championship organized in the Italian territory. Juventus FC Academy

The Juventus Academy project was created to bring Juventus colors, methods and values ​​all over the world and to as many young people as possible. Present in over 50 countries and on all continents, it offers both the teaching and development of football skills and educational training, accompanying young players in their growth, from introduction to the game until maturity, not exclusively sports. All programs are available regardless of the level of the participants and the activities are based on respect for their psychophysical well-being. WHAT IS MEANT BY JUVENTUS WAY?

Following our philosophy, we aim to train the athlete through an overall vision that combines the technical and mental, emotional and relational aspects. A methodology that we can summarize in five points:

GAME STYLE

The will to command and lead the game: the pleasure of maintaining ball possession, the ability to manage the game and its timing with ease, the development of a team mentality devoted to resourcefulness and common sacrifice are fundamental.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Through specific exercises of technique in movement, we aim at perfecting the football gesture: from transmission to control, from searching for space to fast running to mastery in the domain of the ball.

TACTICAL SKILLS

When we talk about tactical skills, we mean both individual and team “skills”. These skills are trained with exercises that, alternately during the week, research the principles of the game. And by game principles we mean the construction, management and maintenance of possession, finishing and finalizing, the defensive phase. The methodology uses simple and complex situational training methods, positional games, possession exercises and themed matches.

MENTAL ASPECT

The goal is to train an athlete ready to make effective decisions, even in difficult and changing contexts. In other words, the development of a “Fast Thinking”, the basis for best adapting to all the situations and mutations that a game presents.

EMOTIONAL-RELATIONAL ASPECT

Sacrifice, courage, collaboration: these are the values ​​that our athletes must share, developing the concept of belonging and team. These are the values ​​at the base not only of the players’ work, but also of those who constantly follow them and accompany them in their growth, on and off the pitch.

Juventus FC ACADEMY WORLD CUP

Juventus Academy World Cup has become the most important annual event of the Juventus Academy project. To date, this tournament has been organized on two occasions, in 2018 and 2019, allowing thousands of people from all over the world to be in the Juventus capital to live a unique experience.

ACADEMY WORLD CUP 2019

85 teams from 28 nations participated, with a total of 1,004 players and 504 companions in attendance. During the week 320 games were played in the various facilities, including the semi-finals of the tournament at the Juventus Training Center – Continassa and the finals of the tournament at the Allianz Stadium. The Juventus Academy of Torun (Poland) for the U12 category and of Romania for the U10 category were the winning teams of this edition.

ACADEMY WORLD CUP 2018

It was the first edition and saw 32 teams from 16 nations participate. 400 players and 280 companions took part in a week full of emotions that ended with the Juventus Academy of Tunisia as the winner of the tournament in the finals played at the Juventus Training Center in Vinovo.

Juventus FC History

It is the second oldest of its kind still active in the country after Genoa’s football section (1893) and has competed uninterruptedly in the top flight league (reformulated as Serie A from 1929) since its debut in 1900 after changing its name to Foot-Ball Club Juventus, with the exception of the 2006–07 season, being managed by the industrial Agnelli family almost continuously since 1923. The club was originally founded with the name Sport-Club Juventus, initially as an athletics club.

Juventus is one of the first professional sporting clubs ante litteram in the country, having established itself as a major force in the national stage since the 1930s and at confederation level since the mid-1970s, and becoming one of the first ten wealthiest in world football in terms of value, revenue, and profit since the mid-1990s, and being listed on the Borsa italiana si. The relationship between the club and that dynasty is the oldest and longest in national sports. The club became the first to win all three seasonal competitions organized by the Union of European Football Associations while Giovanni Trapattoni was the manager.

These titles include the 1976–1977 UEFA Cup (first Southern European side to do so), the 1983–1984 Cup Winners’ Cup, and the 1984–1985 European Champions’ Cup. In the ten years prior to 1986, the club won a total of 13 trophies, including six league titles and five international titles. An accomplishment that they revalidated with the title won in the 1999 UEFA Intertoto Cup after another successful era led by Marcello Lippi, becoming the only professional Italian club to have won every ongoing honor available to the first team and organized by a nation.

With consecutive victories in the 1984 European Super Cup and the 1985 Intercontinental Cup, it became the first and thus far only in the world to complete a clean sweep of all confederation trophies. In December of 2000, Juventus was ranked seventh in the historic ranking of the best clubs in the world by FIFA. Nine years later, in December of 2009, Juventus was ranked second best club in Europe during the 20th Century based on a statistical study series by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), the highest for an Italian club in both rankings. Juventus was also ranked seventh in the historic ranking of the best clubs in the world by FIFA.

The fan base of the club is the largest at the national level and is among the largest anywhere in the globe. It is widespread throughout the entire country and the Italian diaspora, which makes Juventus a symbol of anticampanilismo (“anti-parochialism”) and italianità. In contrast to most European sporting supporters’ groups, which are often concentrated around their own club’s city of origin, it is widespread throughout the whole country and the Italian diaspora (“Italianness”).

They have also won four FIFA World Player of the Year awards, with winners such as Roberto Baggio and Zinedine Zidane, a national record and third and joint se. Juventus players have won eight Ballon d’Or awards, four of these in consecutive years (1982–1985, an overall record), among these the first player representing Serie A, Omar Svori, as well as Michel Platini and three of the five recipients with Italian nationality as the former member of the youth sector Paolo Rossi In addition, players who have represented the club have won a record-breaking 11 Serie A Footballer of the Year awards, including Gianluigi Buffon, who is the only goalkeeper to have ever won the award.

Furthermore, 17 different players have been inducted into the Serie A Team of the Year, which is also a record. Last but not least, the club has also contributed the greatest number of players to the Italy national team, the majority of whom have participated in official competitions almost continuously since 1924. These players frequently formed the core of the group that guided the Azzurri squad to victory on the international stage, most notably in the 1934, 1982, and 2006 FIFA World Cups.

Stadium

The Juventus Stadium, also known for sponsorship reasons as the Allianz Stadium since July 2017, and sometimes simply known in Italy as the Stadium (Italian: Lo Stadium), is an all-seater football stadium located in the Vallette borough of Turin, Italy, and serves as the club’s home field.

Juventus F.C. plays their home games there. It is one of only four club-owned football stadiums in Serie A, along with Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium, Udinese’s Stadio Friuli, and Atalanta B.C.’s Gewiss Stadium. The stadium was erected on the site of the previous home of Juventus and Torino, the Stadio delle Alpi. It was opened for business at the beginning of the 2011–12 season, and it can accommodate slightly more than 41,000 spectators.

On September 8, 2011, Juventus played the inaugural match in the stadium against Notts County in a friendly that ended 1–1. Luca Toni scored the first goal of the match for Juventus. Notts County is the world’s oldest professional football club.

Three days later, on the fourth, the first competitive match was played, and it was against Parma. In the 16th minute of that match, Stephan Lichtsteiner scored the stadium’s first goal in a competitive match. At the Juventus Stadium, Juventus only suffered three defeats in the first one hundred matches they played in the Italian top-level league.

Crest

Since the 1920s, the official crest of Juventus has been updated on multiple occasions with a variety of subtle changes. The previous alteration to the Juventus symbol took place in 2004, when the insignia of the team was changed to a black-and-white oval shield of the sort used by Italian ecclesiastics. Since then, the Juventus badge has not been altered again.

It is segmented into five vertical stripes: two white stripes and three black stripes, inside of which are the following components, while in its upper section the name of the society is overlaid on a white convex area, above golden curvature (gold for honour). A black antique French shield has a white silhouette of a charging bull overlaid on top of it in the lower section of the oval shield. The charging bull is the sign of the comune of Turin, and the silhouette of the bull is white.

Above the bottom point of the black spherical triangle, there is also a silhouette of a mural crown drawn in black. This is a remembrance of Augusta Tourinorum, an ancient city that existed during the Roman Empire. The current capital of the Piedmont area is the cultural inheritance of Augusta Tourinorum.

The most recent alteration to the Juventus badge was revealed by the club’s president, Andrea Agnelli, in January of 2017, along with the release of a film demonstrating the transition to the new design. The word “Juventus” is displayed at the top of the badge, and below it are two capital Js displayed together in different typefaces with a slight hole between them to almost produce a bigger J. Agnelli has stated that the crest is representative of “the Juventus way of living.”

The Italian club Juventus was the first team in the history of association football to use a star. They added a star above their badge in 1958 to commemorate winning their tenth Italian Football Championship and Serie A title. Since then, other clubs have followed Juventus’ lead and adopted stars as part of their crests.

Ownership

Since the 27th of June in 1967, Juventus Football Club has been a società per azioni (S.p.A.), and since the 3rd of December in 2001, the Turin-based club has been listed on the Borsa Italiana (Italian stock exchange). As of the 31st of December in 2015, the shares of Juventus were distributed as follows: 63.8 percent to EXOR N.V., the holding of the Agnelli family (which is a firm owned by Giovanni Agnelli, the founder of FIAT), 5.0 percent to Lindsell Train Ltd., and 31.2 percent to other owners. (<2.0 percent) Lindsell Train Ltd. increased its share as of the 5th of July, 2016, to 10 percent, and then Exor S.p.A. decreased to 60.0 percent.
