BACK TO NETHERLANDS CLUBS

Hi, I’m Carlos! A coach, sports enthusiast, and the founder of FCScout.com.

I fell in love with the game at a very young age like many of you. I’ve been following and playing soccer for many years.

Throughout my career, I always enjoyed helping soccer players chase their dreams, which is why I started this website. I wanted to reach a larger audience outside of my local area and fcscout.com was born.

This website is a platform I will be using to update club pages on any tryouts, stadiums, players, tech, and more from clubs around the world. I also create free recruitment profiles for players looking to have that extra competitive edge when reaching out to clubs.

That’s it. That’s my pitch for you to stick around (or browse the site as you please).

This is already too much text for a “see more” drop-down button thing. If you want to reach out to me, head on over to my contact page 🙂

Heracles Almelo is a Dutch professional football club based in Almelo, founded in 1903. They play in the Eredivisie, the top tier of Dutch football.

Heracles Almelo Development System

FC Twente and Heracles Almelo give substance to the Academy on an equal basis. The goal of the FC Twente/Heracles Academy is to train regional football talent.

Person on one

The focus of the FC Twente/Heracles Academy is on the individual. The person is number one in the training, whereby we contribute to the development of successful people. That happens on a sporting level, but we think the development that our players go through as people is just as important. After all, there is only a very small part of the talents that move on to the first team. We want to teach our players to be independent, to take responsibility for their own training, to be able to reflect, collaborate, plan and persevere. Personal development is one of the most important pillars within the training. Not only for the players, but also for the trainers and other employees.

This takes place in a safe environment in which there is room to make mistakes. It is important for personal development that we get to know our people and their character even better. Our players need to get to know themselves better, while we need to know what is going on at home and at school and what problems they encounter. If we get to know the players and understand their behavior, we can guide them even better, which will help them develop even better.

High demands are made on the intensity of the training. Just like the commitment to training and competitions. Our talents must be challenged to continuously push the limits of the maximum. By stepping outside their comfort zone, they will push their limits and develop as a result. They are in charge of their own dream, and we will teach them to take responsibility for it. Dealing with setbacks and resistance is necessary.

Footballer of the future

Football is always the common thread. We want to train the footballer of the future at the FC Twente/Heracles Academy. Players with a strong personality, who are Eredivisie-proof and flexible in different ways of playing and game principles. With the Academy’s way of training, we develop hard-working players. Boys who do not invest in luxury, but in their own development. It is important that the players see the prospect of breaking through in the first teams of FC Twente and Heracles Almelo.

Ambition

The ambition of the FC Twente/Heracles Academy set in 2020 is that the selections of FC Twente and Heracles Almelo in 2025 will consist for twenty percent of players who come from the joint academy and that five of them have a base place at one of the two clubs.

Connecting to the region

We are emphatically seeking cooperation with the region. With the business community, but especially with the amateur associations. Our talents come in through them. We want to give something back in return. Think of trainers who can ask for advice from our trainers, or of heads of youth training programs who can switch the help of our people, in order to be able to take steps as an association.

Location

The youngest youth teams train at the Diekman Sports Campus in Enschede. The superstructure trains at the Training Center in Hengelo. The teams play their matches at the Training Center. There is also the possibility that matches will be played at Erve Asito, the stadium of Heracles Almelo.

Heracles Almelo History

Heracles was the original name of the organization, which was established on May 3, 1903; it was named after the demi-god son of Zeus. On July 1, 1974, they transitioned to being known as SC Heracles ’74, and it wasn’t until 1998 that they landed on their current moniker.

The club has won the Dutch national championship on two separate occasions, once in 1927 and again in 1941. During the 2004–05 season, Heracles was victorious in the Eerste Divisie, earning promotion to the Eredivisie for the first time in 28 years as a result of their victory. Since then, the club has continued to compete in the highest level of competition. In 2012, the club made it all the way to the final of the KNVB Cup for the first time in its history, but ultimately fell short against PSV. FC Twente is the most significant competition the club faces.

Heracles Almelo Stadium

In Almelo, the Netherlands, there is a stadium known as Erve Asito, which was once known as the Polman Stadion. At this time, the majority of the events that take place here include football. The stadium first opened its doors in 1999 and can accommodate a total of 12,080 spectators. Heracles Almelo play their home games in this venue, which means it is an official Eredivisie venue. It utilizes artificial turf for its playing surface.

On September 10, 1999, the stadium was officially opened, and the opening match was played that day against FC Zwolle. Job ten Thije, who plays for Heracles, was the player who scored the first goal at the Polman Stadium. The seating capacity of the stadium was increased from 6,900 to 8,500 in 2005, with 400 of those seats designated specifically for fans of opposing teams. In 2015, an additional 1,280 seats were added, bringing the total capacity to 12,080.
